Senco Brands International, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, has acquired Expandet A/S, the family run fixings manufacturer based at Graested, Denmark.

The acquisition took immediate effect in August; terms have not been disclosed. Expandet was founded by the Mortensen family in 1955. Since 1983, when they took over the business from their father, the company has been operated by Laus Mortensen and Lene Mortensen.
During its 57 year history, Expandet established itself as a manufacturer and marketer of premium quality fasteners used in building applications throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company has prided itself on a commercial reputation marked by exceptional customers satisfaction, outstanding product development and commitment to continuous improvement.
Senco, mainly known for its pneumatic tools and related fastener range, was bought out of bankruptcy in 2009 by Wynnchurch Capital. Expandet is its first acquisition since then. Senco CEO Ben Johansen said: "We look forward to what Expandet can provide our global business in terms of product diversification and alternative markets". Expandet will report directly to Peter van der Wel, president of Senco Brands International.
