After two major acquisitions Elgin Fastener Group CEO Jeff Liter said the company is aiming “to become the premier North American supplier of specialty fasteners.” In late March Elgin added Telefast Industries Inc. of Ohio to its portfolio and the beginning of April announced it acquired Vegas Fastener Manufacturing of Nevada.
The two bring EFG to a total of nine fastener manufacturing companies: Ohio Rod Products, Leland Powell Fasteners, Chandler Products, Silo Fasteners, Landreth Fastener, Quality Bolt & Screw, Northern Wire, Telefast and Vegas. EFG also owns Best Metal Finishing.
Batesville, IN-based EFG is a portfolio company of Audax Group. The original Elgin was founded in 1864 to manufacture watches and clocks.
Founded in 1998, the Las Vegas-based manufacturer operates forging presses, computer-controlled turning centers, vertical CNC mills and CNC bar feeders. Customers include power generation, marine/naval transportation, oil and gas, diesel engine, food processing, power turbine, water works and general industrial markets.
