Brazilian Fastener Manufacturer Jomarca Completed 45 years

Under the leadership of the Portuguese immigrant João Marques Castelhano, the company founder, and his son, the Brazilian Ricardo Castelhano, Jomarca arrived at its 45 years of activities.
Being one of the biggest and most important fastener manufacturers in South America, the company has announced more diversification and investments in the product lines.
The company decided to modernize the fabricating area for fasteners 10 years ago, during which time many acquisitions of new machines were made. Sets of modern equipment, like 40+ cold forming presses from Sacma, all installed in the matrix with over 42 thousand square meters can be seen. There are more than 780 employees, with the production of around 2.5 thousand tons of fasteners per month.
Today, Jomarca has 3 divisions: fasteners, kits for furniture industries, and tools for the construction market, with more than 1,050 employees plus 200 people outsourced.
According to CEO Ricardo Marques, the company recently invested US$ 4.5 million to produce hinges to supply to the furniture industries, where the division Jomarca Kits is leader. All the new machines were bought in Italy, and should arrive in Brazil next June.
"By the end of 2014 we hope to achieve sales of around US$ 142 million, in which 60% is from fasteners, 30% from Jomarca Kits and 10% will be from tools mix, products to building," concluded the CEO.
