Jomarca Starts Hinge Production

The division of a Brazilian furniture fastener leader made its first hinges in November 2014. Known as “Jomarca Kits”, it is a division of Jomarca Group, formed by 4 industrial plants: Itaquaquecetuba and Mirassol, located in the state of São Paulo and Linhares and Rodeiro, respectively located in Espirito Santo and Minas Gerais state. Its headquarters is located in Guarulhos, SP, 10 minutes of distance from the main Brazilian airport. The production has already reached 50% of its goal, with a monthly capacity of 6 million hinges in the size of 26mm. As for the monthly production of the other model in the size of 35mm, it has reached 1 million pieces. Its demand is less because it is mainly for the resale to professional installers. “Our market share is among the resale, especially in industries. Necessities started to be produced here two years ago because the Brazilian Government blocked the import of this kind of products. So, we started this action, which has cost us more than US$ 3 million in purchasing Italian machines since February 2013,” said Pedro Coelho, the partner and director of the division, which Ricardo and João M. Castelhano and Paulo Vicente are also the partners. "With this shortage, we will achieve our goals easily and turn Jomarca Group, that is stronger and more solid, into one of the most important brands in the fastener market of Brazil and South America," concluded Mr. Coelho.
