Future Development Forecast for Chinese Fastener Industry

     According to a recent report on “the research and investment risk assessment on Chinese fastener industry in 2021-2027,“ Chinese mega infrastructure projects are entering a new development phase. As a result, the use of high-strength and high-performance fasteners will continue to grow, which will force fastener enterprises to promote the quality and performance of products, accelerate technical upgrade, optimize structure of products, expand product categories, and enhance the application of AI technology in purchasing, production, sales, and management. The trend of innovative fastening technology, to some extent, determines future industrial development. The core technology for fasteners is not only a booster to the development of special steel types, but also the aggregation of fastener manufacturing, inspection, and heat treating technology. In the future, fastener technology (including material selection, structural design, manufacturing technique, special technique, inspection technology, surface finishes, and quality control) of China  has to be gradually on par with the level of overseas competitors, and the development of AI-driven, combined, and irregular manufacturing will be also the main focus of future industrial technical development in China.
 
  • AI-driven:
     AI-driven manufacturing is an inevitable outcome resulted from mechanical automation, digitalization, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI), which will reduce the labor cost of enterprises and increase product quality. Technical issues AI-driven fastener manufacturing will encounter in the future encompass: automated and AI-driven cold-forging precision forming technology, large-size fastener cold forging machines and equipment, sophisticated fastener precision forming technology, automated logistics facilities and heat treating lines, etc.
 
  •  Combined:
     The combination of mechanical manufacturing technology and various high-end technology. The application of these technology combined will generate new fastener components, manufacturing technique, processing equipment & systems, which will enrich the fastener categories and expand the functions of products. In addition, what’s worth mentioning in combined manufacturing are integration and innovation. Integration herein means integrating various techniques and procedures onto one equipment, which reduces manufacturing steps and space utilization as well as enhance work efficiency and increase product quality. Aggregated innovation is to transform each combination into technical results and innovation, which is a pivotal approach to combined manufacturing and is also a main type of the latest fastener technology innovation.
 
  •  Irregular manufacturing:
 
     With the fast development of technology and stricter requirements for fastener quality, the demand for fasteners used in super high-temperature, low-temperature, super high speed or super low speed conditions is growing larger and larger, and the technology for manufacturing these fasteners is very different from that for manufacturing general ones. In the future, super precision manufacturing, super high-performance products, and irregular forming technique will certainly become symbols to determine the fastener manufacturing level and will become the focused research and development direction of high-end fastener manufacturers.
