WSD Confirmed that NLMK is One of the Most Competitive Steel Companies of the World

Group NLMK (LSE: NLMK), one of the leading steel producers in the world, took the 2nd place in a rating of 35 most competitive steelmaking companies of the world following the results of 2012. The rating was made by World Steel Dynamics, the leading international exploratory company, on the basis of 23 parameters, including expansion, proximity to growing commodity markets and buyers, production with the high added value, profitableness, technological innovations and others. Thus, NLMK once again confirmed the positions in WSD rating. In the middle of 2012 the company also took the 2nd place among the most competitive steel companies of the world in WSD rating.
Strategy director of NLMK, Konstantin Arshakuni commented, "NLMK's position in World Steel Dynamics rating proves that the NLMK strategy of balanced growth and its implementation allow the company to show good results throughout a long time on both financial parameters, and on rates of development. Further, we intend to develop the attained leadership at the expense of raising production efficiency, sales and service worldwide. " Since 2007 in World Steel Dynamics rating, NLMK takes stable positions among 6 largest world metallurgical companies on competitiveness level. In 2012, the 1st place in the rating was occupied by South Korean producer, POSCO.
