According to a report of the Financial Times, Illinois, USA-headquartered Anixter, whose sales in 2013 reached USD 6.2 billion, is going to sell its fasteners division, which accounted for roughly 15% of the total sales of the company. The news released early last year shows potential buyers were resistant to the price expectations, even though the distributor would like to sell the entire company. The Financial Times reports that the sales of the fasteners division of Anixter may exceed USD 500 million. Goldman Sachs will be in charge of the auction of the fasteners division and the bids will be due later in Jan. 2015.
