Development Trends of Small Motors for Vehicle Applications

Motors for vehicles can be generally categorized into small motors (for auxiliary devices) and driver motors (for main motors), and the fields of their applications can be as listed in Table 1. There are generally about 20 small motors applied in a typical automobile, and over 60 in a luxury sedan. This number will go up beyond 100 in the future, indicating that automobile is going to be a major field for the applications of small motors. As much as automobiles are required of stability not only in the allowing for operation in an enclosed environment with high temperature, but also the providing safety while driving, the demands for the quality precision of these motor products are, therefore, extremely high.
