EU Makes Final Determination of 2nd AD Sunset Review on China's Wire Rods

On October 13, 2021, the EU made a final determination of 2nd AD sunset review on China's wire rods. The determination states to continue to impose a 7.9% AD tax on Valin Group (China) and 24% on the other Chinese companies involved. The products involved under the EU Combined Nomenclature are 72131000, 72132000,72139110,72139120,72139141,72139149,72139170,72139190,72139910,

72279050, and 72279095. The investigation period of this case is from July 7, 2019 to June 30, 2020. The damage investigation period is from January 1, 2017 until the end of the investigation period. The announcement has taken effect the next day after publishing.
The EU filed an AD investigation on wire rods originating in China, Moldova and Turkey on May 8, 2008. The EU published an announcement on August 5, 2009 of an affirmative final determination of AD on China's wire rods, and a negative final determination of AD on Turkey's wire rods. On August 2, 2014, the EU made the first AD sunset review investigation on China's wire rods. On October 14, 2015, the EU made the final determination of the first AD sunset review on China's wire rods. On October 14, 2020, upon a request by The European Steel Association, the EU initiated the second AD sunset review investigation on China's wire rods.
