The European Commission has issued the findings of the anti-circumvention investigation on steel fastener imports from Malaysia to companies that applied for exemptions.

Sources in Asia indicate that the EC plans to grant exemptions to seven companies understood to be:

Sofasco Industries
Chin Well Industries
Tigges Fastener Technology
United Bolt and Nut
Acku Metal Industries
Power Steel and Electroplating
TI Metal Forgings

All other imports from Malaysia of the cited product range are expected to be subject to the maximum 85% anti dumping duty and it seems virtually certain these duties will be applied to imports from Malaysia recorded by customs authorities since the date the investigation was initiated on 28 October 2010. The EU decision extending the 85 percent anti-dumping duty to Malaysia will take effect after being published in the Official Journal by July 28.
