Anti-China sentiment between Vietnam and China has sparked a wave of demonstration and riot in local Vietnamese provinces. On May 15, Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs reports the latest status of Taiwanese plants damaged by the attack of local Vietnamese. According to Vietnam's official statistics, approximately 1,100 plants shut down for security concerns.

This large scale riot is triggered from the sovereignty dispute over South China Sea, turning an anti-China demonstration into a mass civil disorder. Ministry of Economic Affairs reports a list of endangered industries including shoe industry (15 companies), textile & clothing industry (10 companies), furniture industry (7 companies), scooter & bike component industry (14 companies), packaging & printing industry (3 companies), electronics industry (4 companies), and others.

In response to this riot, Ministry of Economic Affairs has set up an exclusive service channel for Taiwanese business owners in Vietnam. Call +886-2-2383-2169 for legal consultancy and assistance in financial damage and reclaim including damage compensation, plant rebuild, manufacturing inquiry, financing, and loans for returning investment.
