Sanko Techno and Obayashi Corporation have developed a new technology that renews old post-installed resin adhesive anchors with no harm at all.

In replacing the old post-installed anchors, it is difficult to pull out old anchors without damaging the anchor hole; therefore, a common solution is to place the new anchor into a different new position and reset the hole drilling device. However, this method involves changing the device retainer, device position, as well as peripheral settings such as wiring and piping. Fortunately with the new renewal technology, one can remove an old anchor without damaging the anchor hole, place a new post-installed anchor into the exact same position, and be free from the risk of wasting the time drilling a new hole and ending up with a damaged concrete wall. This new technology puts more working efficiency and credibility into reality.

This ground-breaking technology involves drilling a hole from the center point of the old anchor, heating up from within that hole to embrittle the surrounding resin, and then using an impact wrench to turn the anchor away from the wall without any damage incurred. Sanko Techno and Obayashi Corporation are currently sending business proposals to constructors of infrastructure renewal projects.

**Post-installed anchor is one of the anchor bolts embedded into concrete materials. It is placed into concrete only after the concrete solidifies.
