Japanese Kobe Steel was Found Unrightfully Rewriting Wire Data; Fasteners Unaffected So Far
Kobe Steel, Ltd publicly acknowledged on October 8 that its copper business unit had been rewriting the data of inspection certificates and shipping products that were uncompliant to specifications. Later on October 13 the company said, apart from the above products, the wires made and shipped by its domestic and overseas subsidiaries and affiliated companies had been rewritten or failed to undergo inspection. Up to October 13, carbon wires that are used to manufacture fasteners are not within the scope of rewriting. There still is a portion of these products that have passed techinical and safety checks.
