USA Initiates AD and CVD Investigations Against Carbon and Alloy Steel Threaded Rod from China, India, Taiwan and Thailand

On March/14/2019, U.S. Department of Commerce initiated the AD and CVD investigations against carbon and alloy steel threaded rod originating in China, India, Taiwan and Thailand. Products involved in the investigations fall within HS codes 7318.15.5051, 7318.15.5056, 7318.15.5090, 7318.15.2095 and 7318.19.0000.

According to statistics of U.S. Customs, USA imported in 2018 0.1047 bn, 35.8 million, 51.1 million and 5.8 million worth of carbon and alloy steel threaded rod from China, India, Taiwan and Thailand, respectively.  

U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) noted that the preliminary determinations are expected to be made before April 8th this year. If the Commission considers the complaint filed (i.e. causing serious injuries to the domestic U.S. industry) to be true, U.S. Department of Commerce will continue further investigations and the preliminary determinations are expected to be made on July 31st, 2019.
