Hebei Electric Power Equipment (China) Successfully Develops High Strength Bolts for Wind Vane Tower Barrel

Hebei Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd. has successfully developed the bolts for wind vane tower barrels. Each barrel connects with others through high strength bolt sets. Each set contains a grade 10.9 Dacromet hexagonal bolt, a grade 10 Dacromet hexagonal nut and two Dacromet washers. These tower barrel bolts are used in a harsh environment of winter and summer temperatures. They must reach the required mechanical performance, be resilient against low temperatures and be surface treated to sustain over 1,000 hours in a salt spray test. Therefore, the tough tasks are to temper tower barrel bolts and have them treated with Dacromet.
The successful development of tower barrel bolts marks another milestone in the new energy field after the company developed anchor bolts for wind power. The company is now one of the few in the wind power industry to be able to manufacture high strength bolts for wind vane towers.
