Ever creating the record of exporting 1,400 tons of self-drilling screws in a single month in Taiwan, and being optimistic about the potential of ASEAN market with the awareness of reducing the risk (of antidumping duty and import duty), Homn Reen, a maker with the greatest production capacity of self-drilling screws in Taiwan, started the construction of its new plant in Vietnam covering 10.5 hectares of land last year. The first phase of the plant building is finished and the production started thereupon, the second phase is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The whole new plant is scheduled to be completed in 2014. It is going to focus on the small-packaged, labor intensive, basic and middle-grades small screws and collated screws for the target of monthly production of 2000 tons, while the company’s Taiwan plant will concentrate on R&D, and production of high value-added fasteners, such as big-sized screws, self drilling screws and bi-metal screws (carbon steel plus stainless steel). By this policy, Homn Reen hopes to make the two plants clearly orientated and equip them with sharp competition edge in the market.
