SUNCO-kai’s 20th General Assembly Ignites Innovation and Unity in the Japanese Fastener Industry

The 20th SUNCO-kai's general meeting and social gathering was held at Hotel New Otani Osaka on March 21. SUNCO-kai is a collaborative association organized by Sunco Industries with its main suppliers, aiming to mutually improve skills and technology between Sunco Industries and members, provide higher quality products, and promote friendship among members. The association works with the desire to realize stable and smooth business for suppliers. SUNCO-kai started in 2006 and holds events every year in March (General Assembly), July (Quality Seminar), and November (Year-end Party).
175 suppliers attended this event. During the general assembly, business and financial reports were presented, and awards for excellent quality were given. The Grand Quality Award went to Fuji Seimitsu Co., Ltd., the Special Excellence Quality Award to Gosho Works Ltd. and Sanko Plating Co., Ltd., and the Excellence Quality Award to Isaasa Seibyousho Co., Ltd., Ichikawa Bolt Mfg., Ltd., Kyouritsu Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Crown Fastener Co., Ltd., Daiki Mfg Co., Ltd., and Nagaitanzo Co., Ltd.
After the General Assembly, the event moved to an adjacent venue for the social gathering. First, President (CEO) Mr. Yoshihide Okuyama of Sunco Industries greeted the participants, mentioning that the Japanese TV program "The World of Screws" (where Yoshihide Okuyama frequently appears) celebrated its 5th anniversary this year and touching on Sunco Industries' original magazine Socket Boy. "We have published four issues of the magazine Socket Boy so far. We will also cover the latest development of our suppliers in the near future so be sure to check out our upcoming publications," said the President.
Next, Mayor Noda of Higashi (Eastern) Osaka City took the podium. He mentioned Japanese manufacturing and the EXPO 2025 (OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN), saying, "Higashi Osaka City is all set to support manufacturing."
The social gathering began with a toast led by President Hashimoto of Sakae Seibyosho Limited Company. Although there was still a bit of winter chill that day, the menu served evoked a feeling of spring that warmed the atmosphere. Voices and laughter filled the room and made a friendly and lively atmosphere.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of SUNCO-kai. The number of members now continues to increase, and going forward, Sunco Industries and suppliers nationwide will work hand in hand to contribute to the further development of the fastener industry.
