Treace Launches SuperBite™ Compression Screw System to Open a New Chapter in Foot Orthopaedics

Medical technology company Treace Medical Concepts has announced the successful completion of the first clinical cases using its next‑generation SuperBite™ Compression Screw System. The screw combines a variable‑pitch thread with a headless design, and features self‑drilling and countersinking capabilities that enable rapid implantation while delivering high‑strength compression. Its beveled head and smooth edges make it suitable for both minimally invasive and traditional open surgical approaches, and with diameters ranging from 2.5 mm to 7.0 mm, the system is widely applicable in forefoot, midfoot, and hindfoot orthopaedic and fusion procedures.
Dr. Anne Holly Johnson, a surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and a member of Treace’s Surgeon Advisory Board, said her first cases with the SuperBite™ screws were very successful, praising the streamlined insertion and strong compression and indicating that she plans to use the system in a broad range of fusion and osteotomy applications. Treace CEO and Chairman John T. Treace noted that the SuperBite™ system, together with the upcoming SpeedXM™ Midfoot Fusion System, is expected to expand the company’s total addressable market by approximately USD 300 million in 2026, reinforcing its position as a one‑stop technology partner in foot and midfoot surgery, with full commercialization of the SuperBite™ Compression Screw System anticipated in the third quarter of 2026.
