Fastener Export of India in August Showed Downfall

With the influence of lower demand of USA and Europe, the export of engineered products (incl. fasteners) of India in August 2012 dropped by 9.7% to USD4.67 billion. According to the statistics, over 60% of the engineered products export in India were shipped to USA and Europe. During April to August 2012, the total export value of Indian engineered products including transportation equipment, capital goods, light industry products was USD20 billion (down 11% over the same period). The total export value of Indian engineered products in 2011 increased to USD59 billion from USD49.7 billion in 2010, up 17% over the same period.
